Abstract

his study investigates the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) in the United Arab Emirates’s (UAE) construction sector, highlighting its opportunities and challenges from a project management viewpoint. Despite BIM's potential to enhance efficiency and reduce waste, its adoption faces challenges such as resistance to change and lack of top management support. Through quantitative analysis with UAE construction experts, the research identifies key barriers and benefits, including cost savings and improved project timelines. It suggests that increasing BIM awareness, education, and top management support are crucial for its integration into construction practices, aiming to bolster BIM's role in sustainable construction. This contributes to understanding BIM adoption drivers in the UAE construction industry.
